WHAT IS LIP BLUSH?

Lip blush tattooing is a semi permanent procedure to add pigment into the top layer of the skin. This enhances the natural shade and shape of your lips and restores colour and definition that may have be lost through age, lifestyle or environmental factors.
As every client is different each treatment is tailored to you considering things like colour, symmetry or giving the look of fuller lips.
Lip blush makes sure your lips always look their best without the need to apply or re-apply make up. From naturally subtle to a bolder statement colour, we will discuss your preference and colour goals during your complimentary consultation.

This treatment is available for most people, with results lasting up to 3 years. Think of all the money you will save on lipstick!

Some clients may present with darker pigmentation on the lips and could benefit from a lip neutralisation before or instead of a lip blush. This is something we can discuss as part of the consultation process.

LIP NEUTRALISATION

Lip neutralisation is a more advanced tattooing technique using colour theory and understanding to create an even lip tone. Darker pigmentation is neutralised to enhance your natural colour over a minimum of 2 sessions. Additional sessions may be required, this will depend on your natural lip colour and Fitzpatrick type.

This procedure is for clients looking to achieve a more even lip tone, often matching the natural colour of the inner lip. It is a gradual process that requires patience and careful application. Due to the complexity of the treatment, more time between sessions allows the pigment to settle, revealing the chosen colour. While temporary darkening or patchiness may occur as the lips heal, this usually resolves within 12 weeks.

This tailored approach ensures the best possible result for your unique lip tissue and goals. Once the desired tone is achieved, you may then opt for a follow-up lip blush session for a more vibrant finish.

Regular top ups are recommended every 12-18 months to maintain the colour and look as the pigment added will slowly fade and breakdown.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • During your complimentary consultation we will discuss your lip shape, natural colour and what your goal look is. This can be symmetry, restoring colour, covering milia etc. We also discuss colour choice and understand what you want from your lip blush.

  • On the day, the treatment will last approximately 3 hours:

    • We begin by mapping the shape of your lips, working with their natural shape, reviewing and adjusting to ensuring that you are happy

    • A numbing cream is applied at the start and throughout to keep you comfortable and ensure there is minimal pain

    • I will then work to lightly layer the colour to your lips using the tattoo tool to create an even effect

    • There will be some initial swelling directly after but do not worry, this will recede quickly!

  • For lip blush, an initial top up is required from around 6 weeks to perfect the shape and colour and this is when any alterations can be made. As we work with the very top layer of skin this top up ensures an even finish.

  • Healing takes approximately 8-12 weeks for lip blush and 12+ weeks for lip neutralisation. You may experience some some tightness, peeling and slight discomfort following your treatment. Full aftercare information below

CLIENT LOVE

I went to Jaq for a lip blush and as my lips were very pale, I didn't want anything too dark or obvious.

I wanted a nude colour and we talked about the colour 'Pillow Talk' and she absolutely smashed it! It is identical to the Pillow Talk lipstick colour & even a couple of years on, the colour is still there! It means I don't have to wear lipstick when going out which is amazing and such a time saver!

I must admit I was sceptical at first but honestly one of the best things l've done! Highly recommend, 5 stars!

-Emma

I got my lip blush done by Jackie, because years of filler took the colour out of my lips. I'm seriously so happy with how it turned out, the colour and shape it gave me look amazing I would definitely recommend!

-Jasmine

I'm all about low-maintenance beauty, and this was the perfect solution. My lips have a healthy flush now, and I don't need to fuss with reapplying anything during the day.

It's subtle, beautiful, and makes me feel put-together. Jackie was so helpful guiding me through the steps making a wimp like me find the procedure enjoyable!

-Leanna

So happy, I cannot believe my results! I was really nervous about the treatment as l am a man and I was fearful of looking like lipstick.

My lips were a concern of mine as they looked very flat with no colour which is why I decided to book the appointment, Jackie listened to exactly what I was looking for and really understood the 'natural look/ colour' I was hoping to achieve!

Aftercare was very clear and I had no issues, I cannot be happier with my result! Definitely recommend - she’s 5 stars!
